If you like history, there is plenty here. Originally built in the 1850's, Nevada City and it's neighboring town, Grass Valley, are historically preserved with the streets looking very much as they did back in the days of the gold rush era. You will find beautiful old Victorian homes, gold mining museums, fine restaurants and live theater.
Pioneer Park is a great place for the family with younger children wanting a playground, ball parks, tennis courts, or a swimming pool. You can try your hand at gold panning along the Yuba River or Deer Creek. For a great day trip Lake Tahoe and the surrounding ski areas beckon. Squaw Valley is close by for winter or summer sports.
Our three cabins are located on 5 acres next to Camp Augusta, an 80 acre children's summer camp. In the summer months you can hear 'happy camp sounds' as children enjoy swimming, zip lining, and singing around the camp fire. Camp ends mid-August, with a bit more serenity heading into fall. The beautiful autumn colors are not far behind.
